Based in Research and Development at the London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust for the last 12 years working within both; Northwick Park and St Marks Hospital on a number of different diseases areas (Breast Cancer, Upper GI Cancer, Colorectal, Gastro, IBD, Endoscopy) , to facilitate research within the trust and promote the benefits of research.* Working autonomously to manage commercial and non-commercial studies across different disease areas to maximise recruitment and efficiency whilst adhering to GCP and trial protocol * Designing and maintaining spreadsheets to ensure timely follow up of all trial patients * Coordinating the collection and processing of patient samples in a safe and timely manner before transporting them to the central laboratory* Facilitating excellent working relationships with medical staff across the trust, with the purpose of maintaining current high levels of recruitment* Seeking out and reviewing potential studies for capacity and capability in order to expand portfolio of trials allowing patients the opportunity to access new treatments / drugs aimed to improve their wellbeing* Working with finance and other departments to accurately cost studies and ensure that the trust is paid for patient recruitment and procedures in a timely manner * Reviewing minor and substantial amendments prior to submission for local approval* Supporting the Governance team to assist them in conducting in house auditing /monitoring of all trials ensuring regulatory and protocol compliance * Training newcomers to research and best practices and providing ongoing mentoring * Actively involved in promoting clinical trials day* Presenting at research meetings to share research knowledge and experience across the team* Presenting at Multi-Disciplinary team meetings to engage all clinical staff in research and in turn, enhance recruitment to trials

Set up and Management of the SIGGAR1 Trial. A randomised comparison of CT colonography with barium enema or colonoscopy, for the diagnosis of colorectal cancer in older symptomatic patients. * Involved in the SIGGAR1 trial from study set up to site selection and the management of 21 NHS hospitals across England with a recruitment target of 5000 patients* Involved in the design, testing and implementing of all study related materials * Ensuring that the trial was conducted to a high standard adhering to the Research Governance and GCP framework * Collaborating with PIs and nurses at actively recruiting sites to ensure recruitment targets were met on a monthly basis whilst maintaining data quality and completeness* Operation and management of a large database and dataset. Assisting with analysis, interpretation and summarisation of the data for quality assurance and audit purposes* Working closely with the Health Psychologist in the administration and processing of the Psychological Questionnaires to all SIGGAR1 patients* Arranging and conducting training days for Research Nurses nationally * Organising and presenting at team, local and national SIGGAR1 Collaborator meetings* Managing and mentoring the Data Manager and the Data Clerks working on the SIGGAR1 Trial

Working on the largest international study on head injuries (CRASH), with a target sample size of 20,000 patients.* Liaising with 151 hospitals across 50 countries worldwide* Ensuring complete and accurate patient outcome data are obtained in a timely and effective manner, dealing with any queries efficiently* Achieved and maintained 99% follow up of patients trial wide* Presenting the CRASH Trial to Neurosurgeons, A&E doctors and nurses at regional and international meetings* Visiting UK and international hospitals when needed to provide training and support * Assisting in the analysis of the first 1,000 patients enrolled into the CRASH Trial. * Taking lead responsibility for the first 3,000 patients paper which is published in Current Opinion in Critical Care* Liaising with the Trial Co-ordinators to develop and implement strategies to improve the accuracy and completeness of patient outcome data* Preparing data for annual analysis and conducting individual analyses for hospitals when requested* Ensuring effective flow of accurate information to all collaborating hospitals and the trial management group* Responsible for managing staff to ensure prompt and accurate data entry
