I lead a team of SDEs that work on ML Engineering problems at scale to help Alexa understand customer specific requests better. We work in close collaboration with Speech Recognition scientists to build distributed systems that can help productionize ever-evolving cutting-edge speech recognition and personalization machine learning models to deliver a personalized Alexa to the end customer. Moved from Tech Lead to Software Development Manager on the Paralanguage Understanding team in Alexa leading groups of engineers to build new customer experiences related to detecting non-verbal features associated with speech and adapting responses accordingly. Most recently i lead the team in delivering the Adaptive Listening as an opt-in experience to help become Alexa more patient listener as well as understand stuttered speech better. The team also expanded to handle Sentiment recognition use-cases in 2022.

As part of Alexa Speech Recognition (ASR) Infrastructure team i led a group of engineers and built components related to ML model evaluation and reporting automation thereby ensuring only ASR ML models that meet accuracy and latency benchmarks across various dimensions make it to production.

As part of the Amazon Exports and Expansion technology team i build platforms that enables customers to have easy access to products from all over the world. One of the recent large scale platforms i've worked on is a Global Ordering Platform that helps customers browse through stuff listed in Amazon.com from their local Amazon stacks such as Amazon.cn, Amazon.in etc and have a completely local ordering experience.The project involved heavy use of cloud technologies such as high scaling workflows, distributed queues and data storage and retrieval mechanisms for seamless synchronization of product and order information across different stacks.

Worked as part of the development team for Shipment Execution in Amazon Logistics Technology (Amaozn's initiative to build a fast, reliable transportation network that's cost effective). As part of this team i've been working on a distributed execution coordinator platform that converts route plans into specific executable instructions that are then passed on as instructions to- carriers to avail their services as well as facilitate their operations - Fulfillment Centers to give them specifics of how the orders need to be handled (picked, sorted, loaded, unloaded etc)

Worked as part of the development team of Transportation Invoice Processing System - A highly scalable and extendable automated auditing platform for validating and auditing carrier invoices and making payments automatically. The system has a pluggable architecture and is highly scalable owing to the smart use of various cloud technologies including the Amazon Simple Workflow Framework (similar to MapReduce).I've also worked on design and development of invoice generation frameworks for China Carriers at Amazon.com – A framework for generating different kinds of invoices from manifest data for carriers which lack technology to generate invoicesI also take great interest in organizing team building activities including team outings

Worked on Performance Profiling (using .net along with Aspect Oriented Programing) for MSQuote ( a quotation application dealing with major part of revenue in Microsoft) and a reporting application for the same using WPF(Windows Presentation Framework).
