This position provides the leadership, direction and accountability required for the effective and efficient operation of the Department of Communities' direct service provider to individuals with disability and their families to ensure quality of services and financial sustainability within an NDIS environment.

In support of the Commission's vision for all people to live in welcoming communities which facilitate citizenship, friendship, mutual support and a fair go for everyone, the Executive Director is responsible for:• Overseeing the Commission’s system for the procurement of disability services from the non-government sector.• Providing strategic advice to the Director General on all aspects of the Commission’s procurement system.• Leadership, strategic direction, policy development, practice standards and management of the Funding Directorate.• Engagement and high level negotiation with the CEOs and Boards of over 100 disability sector organisations• Stewardship and development of the non-government disability services sector.• Contributing to the effective management of the Commission as a member of the Corporate Executive.

This position leads planning, development and management of block funded contracts with Service Providers to obtain the best possible services for people with disability, leads and manages resource allocation across multiple funding streams, manages service development initiatives to support procurement and contract management practices that enhance services to people with disabilities

Responsible for the development of strategies for the effective management and control of allocated funds to disability service organisations under the Disability Services Act.

Responsible for the implementation of approved recommendations to the current Business Rules framework that forms the basis of determining funding level allocation within the disability sector.

Provided support and advice on discrete projects

To provide leadership and direction for the use of Activ's resources to pursue it's purpose effectively, efficiently, economically and comply with relevant agreements, legislation and organisational requirements
