Barbara Johanson MS,RN-BC, CCM has been a registered nurse for the past 35 years. The past 28 years, she has been assisting seniors and their caregivers with their unique needs. She is well versed in Medicare and Medicaid and private insurance programs available to the elderly in Massachusetts. Barbara has extensive experience in all aspects of elderly healthcare from home,hospital,rehab,assisted living, and nursing home environments.She has worked in long term care settings for the past 24 years. Most recently as a Director of Nursing services for a large rehab and long term facility North of Boston. She is well versed in medicare and medicaid regulations and she has successfully brought zero deficiency surveys to this facility and most recently obtained a five star medicare rating for her Nursing Home.She also was an In House Case Manager for 10 years in a sub acute rehab setting. Working closely with elderly patients and their families to achieve optimal goals and return to prior or better living arrangements. Barbara successfully obtained her CCM certification in May of 2009,and is an active member of the National Association of Professional Geriatric Case Managers, and the Case Management Society of America.Barbara is President of Rest Easy Eldercare, a private geriatric care management company dedicated to the needs of the elderly and their families.
