My time was split between Geocycle and Holcim. Geocycle is a subsidiary of LafargeHolcim, focusing on closing resource lifecycles and creating circular economies in the cement industry through co-processing. I worked together with Holcim Kies & Beton in Central Switzerland to create synergies between the two business units.

During my 16-month full-time Business Development (exploitation) internship, I was responsible for a variety of tasks. These included assisting with the planning and execution of the $200mm+ capital budget for the Crescent Point Bakken play, performing comprehensive economic evaluations for potential acquisitions and dispositions, and using reservoir engineering principles to conduct decline analysis to determine remaining reserves. Additionally, I collaborated with operations and completions groups to assess the feasibility of re-completions, conducted economic and financial analyses of field operating costs, and recommended optimization strategies for production equipment and producing rates.

As a member of drilling crews all across western Canada my duties included but were not limited to:- Safely assisting and supervising the drilling floor during all stages of oil well drilling- Maintenance and inspection of all mechanical equipment (compressors, motors, pumps, hydraulic systems)- Orientating new employees and assuring they are aware of workplace hazards- Completing safe work permits, job hazard assessments and inventory logs
