The St. Petersburg Campus Advisory Board consists of seven community leaders who serve four-year terms. Additionally, the chair of the faculty senate (or the equivalent) and the president of the student body of the campus shall serve as ex officio members of the advisory board. Per Florida Statute 1004.343, the board has the powers and duties which include authority to approve and submit an annual operating plan, budget, and legislative budget request to the USF Board of Trustees. The Campus Advisory Board will exercise other such powers as are lawfully delegated by the University Board of Trustees to provide for the efficient operation and improvement of the campus. Board members also serve as campus advocates to the community.

Liaison between the entrepreneurial community and city government, with the goals of building bridges between the local startup/entrepreneurial community and local government; and empowering city government to utilize more innovative, efficient and entrepreneurial approaches to problem solving and service delivery. The Entrepreneur will serve as a champion, advocate and connector for both the entrepreneurial community and city government.
