I worked in the quality department where I gained experience in a lab setting. I used different machines to help test titanium samples including hydrogen, tensile, and shear testing. I gained experience in metallurgy and materials science.I contributed on preparing the documentation needed for obtaining ISO 14001 certification for the company. I learned the environmental and safety aspects that are involved with engineering and gained audit experience. I learned about the titanium industry and the different components required to melt and forge titanium bars and coil for both medical and aerospace companies.

I shadowed different engineering professionals and gained understanding of what specific engineers do daily. I had an opportunity to work with chemical, civil, and mechanical engineers that helped me understand the various engineering disciplines. I worked in a collaborative environment that refined my social and professional skills. I gained an understanding of the oil and gas industry and the processes of creating and maintaining well pads. I learned the specifics of drilling and fracking that create sustaining well pads.
