Love in Action Worldwide Ministries, Inc. LIAWWM, is a 501c3 Non-Profit and non-denominational ministry. We are a mobile ministry that aims to meet our neighbors’ holistic needs in the present tense. Our focus is on spiritual health, food security and mental wholeness amongst the most vulnerable and urban populations. Our focus is on social justice and erasing the stigma of mental health issues in urban communities. We offer pastoral counseling, resources and/or referrals to those who are experiencing hurt, shame and abuse.We focus on meeting the needs of our neighbors where they are, in the moment. We bring love, joy, and peace into communities, that may have been overlooked and underserved. We minister to the community with tangible gifts (healthy food, clean clothing, hygiene items), spiritual and emotional resources. Through prayer, pastoral counseling, and peer support we also aim to help those who are experiencing hurt, shame and abuse recognize and access the divine within. We are especially focused on erasing the stigma of mental health issues in urban communities.What started as a labor of love is now a movement that is demonstrating positive change in communities being touched: lives being saved, 400 neighbors fed and clothed monthly, increased volunteerism, recycling of plastic bags, rescuing previously discarded food, and a general feeling of joy and love for all involved.

Protestant Staff Chaplain w/a specialty in Pediatrics, adolescent mental health, and at-risk urban youth. Provided spiritual and pastoral care to patients, families and staff. Created a protocol for debriefing Pediatric staff following Pediatric deaths, a debriefing process for ICU members following stressful events, and a handbook on preventing/identifying and experiencing Compassion Fatigue that was widely used throughout the hospital at the start of the Coronavirus Pandemic. Post Pandemic,Chaplain to Staff focusing on employee engagement and mental wellness, secondary traumatic stress and resilience.

Ordained Minister, assisting the Senior Pastor as needed in service to an urban congregation. Duties include but are not limited to: Preaching; Teaching; Counseling; Conducting funerals, weddings, baptisms; Conflict resolution; Chairing and attending committee meetings; Presiding over services in Senior Pastor's absence; Created "Grace for the Journey" a workshop on grief and loss and offered it quarterly while there. Offered Pastoral Counseling services to congregants as needed. Started the Middler's, a social/fellowship group for 35-50 year old congregants ; reinstituted the after-church coffee social.

National Health and Aging Trends Study, a 6-month study for the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health that focuses on how daily living changes as we age. Scheduled and completed interviews with participants, their family members and caretakers. Compiled data and paperwork, maintained confidential file folders, responsible for distribution of monetary incentives.

Intensive specialized hands-on clinical experience combined with classroom hours and individual supervision to address the spiritual needs of Hopkins patients. Specialized in Pediatrics in addition to serving the general population during daytime, overnight and on-call shifts. Administered sacraments as requested, visited with patients and family members, conducted weekly spirituality groups. Collaborated with medical teams and worked closely with medical and nursing students to increase awareness of Medical Chaplaincy. Upon family request, traveled to Boston to minister to a pediatric patient during his final days.

Worked alongside staff chaplains for daily coverage of general medical areas and Emergency Department. Specifically assigned to Neurological Intensive Care Unit, Chemical Dependency Unit, Labor and Delivery, Pediatrics and Neonatal ICU. Conducted weekly spirituality groups focusing on addictions and mental health

Timonium, Md

Conducted non-denominational, therapeutic worship services for children in residential treatment. Worked with Treatment Teams to provide consultative services related to issues of spirituality. Planned and implement initial and on-going training appropriate to the needs of staff including: spiritual/moral development; grief and loss; and the use of rituals. Facilitated the development and implementation of specific spiritual development programs and culturally relevant experiences appropriate to the client population. Pastoral counseling as needed for residents and staff.

Provided individual counseling to approximately 14 clients ages 4 to 54, primarily utilizing a Cognitive Behavioral approach. Counseling issues included, but were not limited to: depression, attention deficit disorder, sexual and/or emotional abuse, drug/alcohol abuse, anger management, grief and loss, marital dissatisfaction, educational problems and oppositional defiant behaviors. Clients were community based (requiring weekly home visits), school based, as well as office based.

Coordinated community based projects such as Coats-4-Kids and Campership, securing funds to provide new coats to children, and link clients with summer camp placements. Assisted with annual campaigns: Holiday Food and Toy Drives, and Back to School project. Wrote grants and assisted in obtaining resources/emergency services for clients. Daily interactions with members of the community, especially a large contingency of homeless individuals. Individual counseling with walk-in and telephone clients.
