My first “job” was serving as library assistant to Mr. Ed Whaley at the small baptist church my family attended. I spent hours learning about the history of our community and asking questions about God, life, and so on— stopping occasionally to reshelve books. It’s no surprise that I would go on to study religion and community/economic development. The fire that was kindled then persists today in my love for the local church, books, and friendly conversations around theology. My call to ministry was informed and inspired by saints who found their place in libraries, fellowship halls, and serving the community. Over the last ten years, I have worked with a variety of faith-based organizations and other community-based nonprofits, primarily with communications, leadership, and development (fundraising). I have worked with teams to launch value added products and small businesses; to host over 200 events; and raise millions of dollars. I’m on a mission to see that every nonprofit and church in my network has the tools, talent, and treasure to succeed!
