Climate Change Solutions Ltd led University of Warwick Student Placement Project aims to survey the potential of solar energy in the Coventry area & create proposals for building owners as a team, making a significant contribution to the Coventry & Warwickshire 2030 Climate Emergency.- Led the team to research on how to estimate shading, roof angle and design solar systems; combining OpenSolar, Google Maps, Google Earth, PVGIS and geometric calculations- Led an initiative to standardise and professionalise our proposals, utilising Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) calculations, past project assumptions and UK Gov Solar PV cost data to make our calculations as accurate as possible- Mapped the Coventry Canal, large building clusters (industrial estates, shopping centres) along the Coventry Canal and in Coventry South constituency, and all buildings within the Coventry Ring Road- Undertook simple financial modelling of mapped sites to gauge a rough estimation of ROIs- Led the team to identify contact details of relevant stakeholders in sites mapped, including building owners, tenants and management agencies, and research on their respective carbon & sustainability commitments- Drafted content on CCS' website detailing the opportunity for businesses to adopt solar PV and other green technologies- Our work has been featured in a briefing on the 2030 Climate Emergency for the FDA (First Division Association - UK senior civil servants)

Working under the wider "Economics of Clean Heat" project, two of us researched on the barriers to heat pump uptake with relation to the Boiler Upgrade Scheme, under the supervision of Drs Ludovica Gazze and Arun Advani in the Department of Economics.- Reviewed international policies used to promote energy efficiency, heat pump, solar and EV uptake- Designed a survey to gain a deeper understanding of the UK heat pump industry and potentially establish partnership opportunities- Reached out to all heat pump contractors listed in the MCS database via email, inviting them to complete our survey and potentially partner with to carry out randomized control trials (RCT) to test barriers and interventions to increase heat pump uptake

Our group of four was asked to develop a disruptive communication product to raise awareness about the social challenges The Social Vim Collective (TSVC) tackles in order for them to become leaders of opinion and influencers in their areas of interest.- Decided to create short video interviews with leading organisations in TSVC's areas of interest, to be posted on TSVC's social media channels- Researched on potential organisations and created storyboards detailing the interview format and process- Evaluated the potential benefits and drawbacks of interviewing each organisation, in relation to TSVC's aim of becoming opinion leaders and influencers in their fields of interest- Presented our findings and suggestions back to TSVC
