Why? I joined Looker in December of 2018 to Lead their internal Analytics and Warehousing team after being a fanatical customer since 2014. When I first saw Looker and LookML (a modeling language for SQL), I knew that organizations who wish to leverage their data to make the best possible decisions had something better! An enormous amount of process that had been previously "best practice" was no longer needed. The distance between data and insight, for me, became radically shorter. I worked on my first data warehouse in the late 90s and a dozen since then. With this new tool, and my prior experience, my team accomplished so much more than we ever had before.Given the budget constraints and agility required of modern business, Looker can empower subject matter experts to make better decisions in ways that are simply not possible with other traditional solutions.
