Ongo is a partnership of companies, including commercial companies, various community interest companies, Social Housing landlord, and property development constructing around 300 properties per year. As H&S Manager I was the strategic mind and conscience behind risk management and Asset Compliance for approx £1bn and 10000 property assets and 25000 customers. From a blank canvas I created and maintained integrated management systems, third party accredited to BSOHSAS 18001, ISO 14001 and self certified to ISO 22301, ISO 9001 and ISO 45001 (by launch day in March 2018). Achieved the international Sword of Honour for Ongo and shortlisted to apply for a Globe of Honour by the British Safety Council both with 5 stars. I created, developed and managed the Group SHE and compliance function. I changed and nurtured the groups organisational culture to embrace risk management concepts and coach the management team to create a generative culture where everyone was empowered to ensure strategies and systems delivered excellence, and governance thrived. I developed a board reporting structure and guided developments to meet governance principles. I managed all operational risks and particularly provide assurance for, fire, legionella, asbestos, gas, electric, lifts. I liaised and create positive relationships with external authorities and organisations, including HSE, HFR, EA, LA, GasSafe, NICEIC and was the strategist in ensuring that the organisation was robustly managed for fire risk and not down graded following the Grenfell disaster. I managed sustainability and environmental compliance for the organisation including strategising for and enabling the reduction of the carbon footprint. My successful approach saved the organisation £hundreds of thousands in reduced operational costs for managing risk and delivered an award winning organisation and £100m construction program with no serious injuries or ill health.

I created an 14001 and 18001 audit system, and audited Airbus to able the organisation to recognise the key management system improvements required, leading them to achieve OHSAS 18001Created a cultural climate survey tool, delivering it along with behavioural change initiatives to blue chip heavy engineering companies such as CELSA UK and Corus (British Steel), analysing and presenting the results to the board to enable them to determine strategic direction to assist in a 30% reduction in serious accidents.Coaching and developing the health, safety and environmental teams at BAE Global Combat Systems to become recognised as a health, safety and environmental management systems experts.Conceiving and developing efficient occupational health and safety management system (OHSMS) for a defence company resulting in proposal for a BAE chairmans award.Becoming the consultant of choice for Pharmaceuticals, Aviation and Defence companies with regards to health, safety and environmental management system.I delivered consultancy services and wrote and/or delivered accredited NEBOSH, IOSH and CIEH courses and bespoke courses to cohorts ranging from 1 to several hundred people at dozens of various companies and organisations such as; RAF, Siemens, Napp Pharmaceuticals, BAE, GE, Celsa, Corus, City Link, Stannah, Airbus, Stanlow OR, Qatar Airways and many more.
