Continuation of development in the wireless RF arena starting at Intersil before the acquisition by Conexant.• Wrote numerical models for on-chip spiral inductors and transformers, on-chip interconnect lines, and PCB interconnect lines. With some help, incorporated these models into the Cadence design system. These models provided usability, options, speed, accuracy, and robustness significantly better than the commercially available software.• Invented the patterned ground shield for on-chip inductors, First disclosure is US Patent 5,717,243

Taught a graduate level course on waveguide theory

• Developed, ran, and supported finite-element/finite-difference nonlinear PDE solvers for semiconductor process and device TCAD simulation• Invented and implemented a new "flux discretization method," now used in most TCAD (process) software, which speeds computation by an order-of-magnitude• Designed, modeled, and developed models for CMOS radiation-hardening methods using both TCAD and circuit design simulation tools• Chaired two consortium efforts including a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) between the SRC and the national labs
