I started my law enforcement career in 1996 with the Sioux City Police Department. Assignments with my agency have included serving as a Patrol Officer, CAST Officer (dedicated community policing officer), Crime Stoppers Coordinator and Accident Reconstructionist. As a Sergeant I supervised the ASAP Unit (dedicated impaired driver unit), as a Team Leader on the SWAT Unit and the supervisor of the Crimes Against Persons Unit of the Investigative Services Bureau. My duties as a police lieutenant incudes serving as the Watch Commander for the afternoon shift, Commander of the Community Policing Program and Commander of the SWAT Unit. As a Captain I managed the Uniform Services Bureau of the police department. My career emphasis has been on patrol operations, leadership, death investigations, incident management and over 18 years of experience in tactical operations. I currently serve as the Chief of Police for the Sioux City Police Department.
