Resource casting material to extrusion material which could improve the part surface finishing, reduce porosity, easily for machining, ultimate goal could enjoy cost savings while improve part quality.•Lead a complex and high precision machining part resourcing which could generate approximately USD 200k yearly.•Coordinated on Value engineering to achieve cost, efficiency & quality on the instrument. Work closely with sheet metal supplier by enhance the TIG weld to robotic laser weld, reducing the gasket installation by changed to hemming process, redesign the single tool to cluster tool for hole punching, eliminate buffing process by changing the type of riveting stud.NPI support:•Review the released drawings and release to supplier for RFQ and total cost analysis.
