Electro-Mechanical Technician
• Experience with the operation of various machines, analyzers and hand tools to include: Mill, lathe, band saw, drill press, sander, electro-polishing, router, slab saw, trim saw, grinder, cut-off saw, lap wheels, multi-meters, power supply, oscilloscope, wet saw, sheet metal brakes, shears and slip rolls • Experience with coursework in the making of geological thin sections• Assist engineers with the set up and run of a wide variety of Vibration and Acoustics tests, Experimental Modal Analysis (EMA), and Operating Deflection Shape Analysis (ODSA) • Assist engineers with the setup of test articles, installation of transducers (accelerometers, microphones, etc.) • Setup of Modal, Vibration, and Acoustic exciters and amplifiers, DAQ systems, and FFT analyzers per engineering direction• Assist engineers with troubleshooting overall test setups including transducers, instrumentation, J-boxes, patch-panels, and cables• Assist engineers with setup of Vibration, Acoustic, and Modal Analysis tests, and participate in performing the tests• Assist engineers with configuring and using the FFT analyzer(s) for Modal, and General Vibration and Acoustics data acquisition, including B&K Pulse, Data Physics, Spectral Dynamics and VXI-based Modal and Acoustics software • Verify test setups and instrumentation to eliminate errors to guarantee data integrity per engineering direction• Operate computer-controlled and other test equipment (oscilloscopes, multi-meters, function generators) as needed to support operations• Assist in and set up of Hydraulic Power Supply Operations• Build complex test fixtures using mill, lathe and other machining tools
