My central philosophy is that everyone has both the right and responsibility to create their own meaning through authentic experiences. As a teacher, I focus on providing a learning environment in which students actively construct their own relationship with knowledge and develop an intrinsic connection to how knowledge is relevant for them. I encourage a growth mindset that values the formative learning process, embracing incremental expansions of one’s reach.As a Pastoral leader, I prioritize the safeguarding of the student’s well-being as well as their development as a human being. With the maturation process and journey to self-discovery will come the motivation to build the life they want to live, which will require valuing their education in and outside of the classroom. My role as IB Core Coordinator, specifically in the area of CAS, further extends this mindset of the creation of the self. Fusing these two responsibilities together gives me the chance to engage with the full holistic individual and contribute to their learning process.
