Represent Carbon County Utah in land use issues on public Lands. Comment and disclose issues that would affect both public and private lands by State, Federal and private industry proposals or projects. Represent Carbon County in its participation under cooperative agency status as set forth in FLPMA, and CEQ guidelines to make comments and recommendations in projects on Federal public lands requiring EIS’s, EA’s or any other environmental input. Make comments to State Agencies on proposals that would impact Carbon County and its residents. Administer the Class B and D road systems in Carbon County Utah. Investigate all access issues on public and private lands. Report the same to the Carbon County Commission and or the County Attorney’s office and Carbon County Sheriff. Map and upgrade the County Road system. Assure that federal or state actions will not unduly restrict or limit free open access historically established under State Statute.Lobby on issues directly affecting land uses and financial implications for Carbon County in the State Legislature and in Congress. Direct other departments as needed to perform duties exclusive under Public Land Director’s authority. Answers only to the Carbon County Commission.
