In 2013, I joined Rider Levett Bucknall in Hong Kong as a Quantity Surveyor and swiftly became a specialist in full-cycle cost and contract management. I have successfully delivered professional cost management services across various delivery models and suites of standard forms of contracts, such as JCT, HKSFBC, NEC and FIDIC, as well as proprietary contracts tailored to the needs of multinational clients.During my tenure, I led the cost planning and management of several high-profile projects in Hong Kong and Mainland China, each with budgets of up to 2 billion AUD. My responsibilities included overseeing preparation of comprehensive cost plans, conducting value management exercises, and evaluating design and procurement arrangements to set realistic budgets for clients. I managed all aspects of the tender process, and all post-contract cost management activities, such as assessing progress claims, managing variations, offering contractual advice, handling contractual claims, and negotiating final account settlements. In 2023, I relocated to Australia to pursue a Master's degree and concurrently work as a part-time quantity surveyor with WT Partnership. In this role, I performed various quantity surveying duties, including the preparation and quality assurance of cost plans, assessing progress claims, evaluating variations, and preparing Initial Bank Reports and Monthly Drawdown Reports with minimal supervision. Additionally, I also involved in task like compiling Tax Depreciation Schedules. This role allows me to adapt my extensive skills to the nuances of the Australian construction sector. I am a Chartered Quantity Surveyor (CQS) with the Australian Institute of Quantity Surveyors (AIQS) and Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors (HKIS).
