Technical MarketingAutodesk Jan 2014 - Apr 2018What I like about Technical Marketing Autodesk's Automotive products is communicating how and why changes in software can have a positive impact on the Automotive design process. To start with, I have AMAZING products to look out for with Alias and VRED being the ones that most people in the design world would know. These are MAJOR products geared for the design community and downstream high-end visualization. My job is communicating the reason that these products are important and showing how the software can impact new and existing users. It's highly technical, highly graphic and a lot of communication. You can see my work on Autodesk.com Alias and VRED pages along with YouTube channels. -

TechnicianMagnetic Peripherals Inc Mar 1979 - Jun 1989Greater Minneapolis-St. Paul AreaMagnetic Peripherals (MPI) was a Control Data company that was acquired by Seagate shortly after I left to finish my electrical engineering degree.I was an electronics technician; part of the Servo Track Writer group, building, maintaining and training these highly technical machines. The servo track writer writes a special track on disk drives which is fundamental to the operation of the disk drive. All hard disks at that time required the servo track, and as far as I can tell, it is still needed. We created the electronics and computer interface to control the writing pattern. From electronics perspective, a majority of our work was with digital logic, but the machine also had high precision mechanical parts and analog control of the arm. From a software perspective, I used three languages regularily; a proprietary 'hpl' language, Basic and assembly code.It was a great experience working there. About 8 years ago, I was able to visit the old team at Seagate.
