After a career of 15 years in the motor trade, in the later years as a director of a Pattersons the Ford Dealers, I chose to pursue a new career in law. I was called to the bar as a barrister in October 1997. I converted to become a solicitor in April 2000. I began my legal career at Marrons Solicitors, and then moved to Samuel Phillips Law Firm, before finally moving to Muckle LLP. The majority of my recent legal practice has been in property litigation, and general commercial litigation. I left Muckle in 2011 to pursue a 3rd career, this time in the charity sector. After a number of part-time and tempoarary roles in the charitable and public sector, I was appointed Chief Executive of Daft as a Brush Cancer Patient Care in April 2017. After a change of heart the trustees made the decision that they could not justify the expense of a CEO, and my role came to an end later that year.I then spent some time as a self-employed consultant solicitor working with North Row Law, and CLR Law.I am now on the board as legal director of The Oak Learning Trust. This is a part time role. Oak is a MAT that operates 4 schools in the Washington area, with aspirations to manage more.
