“You can do better.”This was one of the most memorable moments of my academic career. They were words stated by my fifth grade teacher who was both proud of my writing and expected me to do more because she knew I could. That small phrase launched me onto the path dedicated to using the power of my words to communicate what I wanted with anyone. It started with reading, devouring hundreds of pages by the day, and transformed into writing, crafting essays and stories riddled with literary devices and symbolism that I would turn in with pride, and evolved into speaking, learning how to skillfully navigate and understand the nuances of interpersonal communication. From a bit of encouragement about my little fifth-grade stories, I developed a genuine passion for communicating with others, particularly through creative writing and design. I have remained a lover of words, but also become a maker of art. Endless stories can be told with the simple 26 letters of the English alphabet and a picture is worth a thousand words, but imagine the potential of a union of these two crafts? The possibilities are truly endless. I have pursued these combined interests throughout my life, from creating homebrewed worlds full of unique hand-made maps and intensive lore and deeply backstoried characters in Dungeons & Dragons to learning how to create compelling social media content combining visuals and captions in my student intern position to applying into the communication studies program at UCLA and taking a degree’s worth of courses about all facets of communication, from the principles of oral communication to the dynamic interaction between media and the mind to the way different mediums can communicate different messages. I am an appreciator and practitioner of communication and I see it as the core of any successful venture, whether that be personal or professional, verbal or written.My specialties include written and verbal communication, editing, social media content curation and creation (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter), creative writing and design, and graphic design (Canva, Procreate, Adobe PhotoShop). My interests include video games (Overwatch 2, Diablo IV, NieR: Automata, and Baldur's Gate 3 are my current go-tos!), Dungeons & Dragons, reading (mostly fantasy), creative writing, storytelling, and digital art.
