During their group research projects, they became extremely frustrated at the inefficiency and redundancy of gathering online research and decided to attempt to solve the problem by creating iBreadCrumbs. iBreadCrumbs is "A Social Network for Researchers to Share Recorded URLs, Track Websites, Review Notes Online, and Encourage Online Collaborative Research." iBreadCrumbs is built using a propriety PHP-based web application in combination with browser based add-on (FireFox) or desktop application (Adobe Air). In essence, it's a social network combined with a toolbar which tracks url history. Users can annotate, edit, and send their url history as "breadcrumbs" for other users to view. They created this site in the hopes that students and researchers worldwide will be able to save and share their research with others in a fast and easy way.Specific achievements include:• Created wireframes, use cases, and user flows to develop web application and browser extension• Outsourced programming to develop prototype for 70% less than US-based equivalent• Raised a first round of investment capital to seed project• Identified technical issues through consistent testing, organized small test-groups to improve user interface, and initiated changes based on user-feedback
