A serial entrepreneur, visual & digital marketing practitioner with around 20 years' experience, in 2012 Rey founded Hype Digital - a visual & digital marketing consultancy. Hype Digital helped clients in the hospitality sector across Asia increase ROI through the production of visual marketing assets such as 360 Videos, Virtual Reality, Virtual Tours (www.virtualtours.sg), Aerial Photography/Videography (www.aerialphotography.sg). Hype Digital also provides web and app development services.Besides supporting clients with the latest visual marketing solutions, Hype's digital marketing strategies with strong emphasis on SEO/SEM also helped its clients achieve significant increase in ROI.From 2013 to 2015, Rey also ventured into the affiliate marketing space with a focus on using SEO strategies to drive bookings to major Online Travel Agencies as well as direct to hotel chains' and airlines' brand websites. He achieved major success in this area, driving millions of dollars of bookings to dozens of travel websites during this time, in return for affiliate commissions. This venture was retired after a great run of a couple of years due to a major shift in Google's organic search ranking algorithm.Always on the lookout for the next adventure, Rey's past ventures includes: Komu Systems Pte Ltd (2015 to 2018), a software development company focusing on developing solutions in the IoT (Internet of Things) space, and RatesWizard.com (2014 - 2016), a hotel rate comparison widget that helped hotels drive direct online bookings.Rey's first foray into entrepreneurship was as founder of an online retail business in Singapore, turning in a profit within its first month. He is an advocate for delivering data-driven success in digital marketing through the use of web analytics and has a strong passion for the online travel space.Prior to his current ventures, Rey spent a few years at luxury resort operator Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts where he led the Banyan Tree and Angsana brands' global digital and social media marketing initiatives across Owned, Bought and Earned media. During his stint at Banyan Tree, the brand won the Display Advertiser of the Year award from Google.Rey has spoken at several digital marketing events on digital media and social media topics, such as Search Engine Strategies 2011, Social Media World Asia 2012, SME Internet Summit, and Contact Centres Asia 2012.
