In this position, I have been responsible for project implementation for the Americas region. The projects range from conceptual study to construction phase. I have been part of the regional technical committee advising the head of region on all technical matters related to the regional projects. My Activities includes oversight of a major iron ore integrated project project in Brazil. The project, a major iron ore and infrastructure project with $5B CAPEX, is wholly owned by ERG in the state of Bahia, Brazil. The project consists of a direct ship ore (DSO) facility for 10 Mtpa, an iron ore concentrator for 16 Mtpa, 537 km of railway connecting the mine to the port, and a deep sea port for cape size vessels to export the products. In my position, I have been responsible for:- Value engineering of the Feasibility study to optimize the design and CAPEX.- Preparation of the project for detail engineering and construction.- Interaction with the potential lenders and financial institutions for project funding.- Documentation of the key project changes, such as mine plan and tailing disposal change, and approval through the company board of directors.- Budget preparation and approval.- Oversight of the additional studies, such as transshipment and plant staging optimization.- Preparation of the EPC request for proposal, working closely with the EPC companies to provide the tender packages, evaluation of the tender packages.- Oversight of project construction at port and rail.I have performed number of due diligence reviews on various assets that the company was planning to acquire or invest in. The assets were in different geographic regions, such as Norway, Finland, Greenland, Brazil, Guyana, Canada, Surinam, and United States, and in different commodities, such as, gold, iron, copper, nickel, cobalt, graphite, lithium and rare earth.

I have been involved in various phases of the project from scoping and conceptual studies to construction and commissioning. Areas of focus have been process plants, civil and foundation works, underground utilities (water, sewer, and cabling), material handling, communication systems, mining, refineries, heavy industries, infrastructure and power generation. Provided project management, leadership and supervision for team sizes from 10 to 225 personnel. Provided leadership and mentorship for the project team as well as other project engineers and project managers.Managed client relationship and stakeholder’s communications on the project. Worked with the regulatory bodies for construction, and environmental permitting. Responsible for project EBIT and profit/loss to ensure the profitability of the project and proper execution of the work.Managed the project engineering hours, procurement budget and construction cost from early estimating till the project closeout and handover. Ensuring that the project was delivered within budget and schedule.Executed rigorous change management process to identify, capture, evaluate, approve and implement changes throughout the project on both engineering hours and construction cost. Performed risk assessments at project and business unit level to ensure project risks are identified and proper mitigations have been prepared and followed through. Reviewed the risk matrix regularly and kept it up dated.Business development involvement to expand the business to the other areas and develop relationship with clients through effective delivery of the projects.Audited struggling projects to identify the gaps, issues, and problem areas in order to provide optimized solutions for bringing the project back on track. This audit was done through observation, interview, and detail evaluation of the project process and procedures.
