CurrentIn this position, I have been responsible for project implementation for the Americas region. The projects range from conceptual study to construction phase. I have been part of the regional technical committee advising the head of region on all technical matters related to the regional projects. My Activities includes oversight of a major iron ore integrated project project in Brazil. The project, a major iron ore and infrastructure project with $5B CAPEX, is wholly owned by ERG in the state of Bahia, Brazil. The project consists of a direct ship ore (DSO) facility for 10 Mtpa, an iron ore concentrator for 16 Mtpa, 537 km of railway connecting the mine to the port, and a deep sea port for cape size vessels to export the products. In my position, I have been responsible for:- Value engineering of the Feasibility study to optimize the design and CAPEX.- Preparation of the project for detail engineering and construction.- Interaction with the potential lenders and financial institutions for project funding.- Documentation of the key project changes, such as mine plan and tailing disposal change, and approval through the company board of directors.- Budget preparation and approval.- Oversight of the additional studies, such as transshipment and plant staging optimization.- Preparation of the EPC request for proposal, working closely with the EPC companies to provide the tender packages, evaluation of the tender packages.- Oversight of project construction at port and rail.I have performed number of due diligence reviews on various assets that the company was planning to acquire or invest in. The assets were in different geographic regions, such as Norway, Finland, Greenland, Brazil, Guyana, Canada, Surinam, and United States, and in different commodities, such as, gold, iron, copper, nickel, cobalt, graphite, lithium and rare earth.
