    My work involves collaboration with a diverse group of scientists from different disciplines to tackle environmental problems such as land cover change mapping, vegetation monitoring, and precision agriculture. My responsibilities as a geospatial scientist include remote sensing/GIS data analysis, machine learning and time-series analysis, scripting for automation of data processing, statistical analysis, and model validation. Projects:• National land cover mapping of Ethiopia.• Global vegetation persistence monitoring.• Florida crop mapping. • Analyzed time-series of monthly data from AVHRR and MODIS to link vegetation and climate dynamics.• Investigated land cover change in Ethiopia using high resolution, Landsat, MODIS, and Sentinel images, digital elevation models, and nighttime light data.• Mapped agricultural crops for the state of Florida using time-series of Landsat and field data.• Published seven peer-reviewed papers and presented research at several conferences. • Teaching a course on geospatial modeling using Google Earth Engine, MATLAB, and ArcGIS.
