Better data saves lives. As Chief Product Officer at Allies Against Slavery, Becky leads strategy, development and deployment of Lighthouse, an innovative software solution designed to identify signs of exploitation and gain insight from human trafficking data. Becky joined Allies in 2019 through the Leadership Austin Fellows program, where she was also the Social Venture Partner Fellow at Mission Capital, transforming how business professionals engage with nonprofit organizations to scale and build capacity. Becky’s foray into social impact happened shortly after she “failed at retirement” from IBM, where she held a broad range of global executive and leadership positions in marketing, strategy, sales education, business development, product management and software development. Becky has expertise in IBM systems, high performance computing, virtualization, systems management, certification and training, user centered design, project management and open standards. Becky has a long history of community engagement. She has served as a volunteer leader and board member with organizations centered in equity and advocacy for women and girls, STEM education, and high impact collective giving, including the City of Austin Commission for Women, Impact Austin, Girls Empowerment Network, Nobel Women's Initiative, Philanos, Girlstart, Texas Advocacy Project, Austin Women in Technology, Girls Rock Austin and Austin Gifted. Becky is a graduate of Leadership Austin and Leadership Texas, attended the UT McCombs School of Business Institute for Managerial Leadership, and has a BA in mathematics from Vassar College. Becky plays upright and electric bass in local bands, a journey that began later in life and has proven it's never too late to start something new.
