As many of you know, my family’s life has been transformed by our experience helping Ukrainian families resettle in the U.S. This has opened my eyes to the challenges in our immigration system, hence inspiring me to pursue a career as a Department of Justice Fully Accredited Representative.Did you know …• 60% or more of immigrant women and children could be eligible for international protection, such as asylum or another form of humanitarian relief, if they had legal representation.• Immigrants are 12 times more likely to gain eligible relief when they are represented. Lack of advocacy disrupts in life-altering ways. • With each deportation order, families are separated, employers lose employees, and communities lose valued neighbors and friends. I recently enrolled in Villanova’s VIISTA program. The purpose of this program is to teach immigration law to non-lawyers so they are can provide legal representation to immigrants. This journey is exciting and daunting as I will be learning all aspects of immigration law in order to best represent people seeking safety and security for themselves and their family in the U.S.. I am also an experienced nonprofit professional with a passion for delivering results and developing a talented workforce. I’ve served nonprofit missions with both internal and external-facing roles, and with a local and national scope.
