Efficiently handle a team of six administrators and two asset management specialists.Guarantee the availability and support function of all server-based applications for users, including 156 Windows-based and 34 Red Hat or Centos Linux servers a hybrid Windows Exchange environment, SharePoint, Skype for business, internal laboratory management systems.Effectively utilize Solar Winds monitoring tools in ensuring server and application uptime while in charge of scheduling server patching and monitoring. Administer the addition of new servers and replacement of aging devises, related operating systems and applications with physical and virtual servers in a VMWare 6.0 environment while accountable in providing quotations and cultivating vendor relations for hardware and software purchases and pricing negotiations with an annual budget of approximately $1.5 million for hardware and software and $300,000 in non-capital expenditures. Ensure compliance of devices, methods, and operational policies with Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and Federal Information Processing Standard (FIPS) 140-2 requirements.Provide hands-on assistance to team in maintaining accurate inventory control processes, issuing IT-related equipment and timely replacements, and imaging computers to corporate standards.Drive strategic efforts in supporting Microsoft EA, Red Hat, Symantec, and Veritas renewals and true-ups.Oversee a wide range of duties, including examining standard operating procedures (SOP) library for the Systems Operation Team and arranging work, on call schedules, and approve vacation, as well as conducting annual performance reviews of team members.Closely collaborate with laboratory director in ensuring the availability and adherence of all laboratory software to the requirements, while supporting the upgrade and implementation of changes as well as providing solutions.
