Serves as the Company Fire Support NCO for a light infantry company; advises the Company Fire Support Officer; ensures the Company Fire Support element of 10 Soldiers is adequately manned, equipped and trained; conducts battle tracking of platoon forward observers; trains and evaluates the enlisted personnel in the Company Fire Support element and the maneuver forward observers; plans and coordinates all administrative and logistical support; ensures Company Fire Support personnel are fully deployable and self-reliant; accountable for Fire Support equipment valued in excess of $200,000.

Combat Observation Lasing Team (COLT) Chief in a Infantry Brigade Combat Team of the 3rd Infantry Division with worldwide contingency mission; responsible for preparing observed target list, responsible for all matters of fire support to include Mortar, Artillery, Naval Surface Fire, Close Combat Attack, and Close Air Support; initiates suppressive and screening fire to support the scheme of maneuver; performs crater analysis; selects and occupies observation post; responsible for the health, welfare, training, and accountability of two Soldiers and maintenance of Fire Support equipment, valued in exceeds of $3,000,000 dollars
