Serve as liaison between the New York Regional Census Center and media partners in the Northeast region & Puerto Rico, with a focus on Spanish language media outlets.Some responsibilities include:* Recruit media partners, train reporters and other media staff regarding the 2020 Census* Generate earned media* Coordinate regional leadership appearances on local media outlets* Conduct media appearances on behalf on the Census Bureau, completed over a dozen media appearances so far across various TV, radio, and print outlets* Support field staff with media needs* Conduct community presentations* Create community-facing collateral material

Managed the Northeast office and served as primary spokesperson for the organization in the region, to implement the core mission of facilitating the full Latino participation in the American political process from citizenship to public service. Areas of focus included citizenship, voter engagement, and census.Some accomplishments include:* Co-hosted first of two official NJ gubernatorial debates (2017)* Created and facilitated coalitions in New Jersey and Connecticut to increase the representation of Latinos within each state's incoming gubernatorial administration* Completed over two dozen media appearances across various TV, radio, and print outlets, including regular appearances on Univision, to discuss citizenship, voting, and census* Led successful election protection campaigns in NY/NJ, in partnership with Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights* Served as site lead for national New Americans Campaign’s NY/NJ site, increasing active participation of partners and expanding coalition from 10 to 15 organizations* Managed over $200k in grants annually and provided technical support to 6 organizations to implement naturalization workshops* Provided technical support to Providence, RI Complete Count Committee during Census’ only ETE test for Census 2020* Worked with local elected officials to support initiatives, such as naturalization workshops, census-related press conferences, and voting rights policy

Implemented a L.I.S.C.-funded national building sustainable communities strategy within the Lower Broadway Neighborhood of Newark; a 1.2 sq mi. neighborhood of 13k residents, 4 schools, and an active commercial district. In addition, train and oversee 2-5 program staff and coordinate organization-wide outreach efforts.Some accomplishments include:* Creation of neighborhood quality of life plan (http://bit.ly/LoBroQOL)* Recruited over 75 implementation partners* Developed a Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED) plan to address escalated violence in the Villa Victoria portion of the neighborhood* Facilitated the creation of a Neighborhood Association* Worked with resident leaders to develop a neighborhood logo and branding strategy* Successfully advocated for $3 mil streetscape & façade improvement project for the Lower Broadway commercial district* Completed phase one of The Gates Project, working with local artists to paint 13 murals on graffiti filled metal roll down gates in the commercial district
