Presently serving as the Group CEO of the Steel Manufacturing Business for MTC Group based out of Mumbai. MTC is the largest Ferrous and Non-Ferrous scrap procurement and processing company in India with worldwide operations across US, UK, UAE and Singapore that deals with more than 2.2 million tonnes of metals annually across its trading and manufacturing operations. As a 4-decade old business group with domestic and international business operations in Scrap (Ferrous and Non-Ferrous), Ferro Alloys, Base Metals, Minor Metals, Iron Ore, Pig Iron and Automobiles, MTC is also into manufacturing of MS structural steel, TMT Bars and Aluminium Ingots & Copper Tubes. As Group CEO, I oversee the entire steel manufacturing business across India, which includes plants manufacturing TMT Bars, Sponge Iron and Structural Steel based out of South India (Hospet, Chennai, Bangalore and Bellary) and an upcoming plant in Western India.With over 35 years of multi-faceted experience in carbon steel and stainless-steel companies, I have played instrumental roles in strategy formulation, enterprise-level planning, organizational profitability and business plan implementation and have managed large cross-functional teams through efficient and collaborative participation. I have also spearheaded several change management initiatives to bring about major organizational improvements.Previously having worked as a Director (Sourcing) at Jindal Stainless, India’s largest stainless steel manufacturing group, from 2007 to 2019, I was involved in strategic corporate planning & sourcing and raw materials security. I had successfully established a knowledge-based sourcing strategy to maximize raw material purchases of over USD 2 billion. I was also responsible for overseeing other vital business functions, including commercial operations, supply chain management, risk management, and cost control. Prior to this, I have held several instrumental leadership roles in Ispat Industries (now JSW steel) and Raymond Steel.I am a Chartered Accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI). I have also been a part of council membership of global associations, such as ICDA (International Chrome Development Association) and IFAPA (Indian Ferro Alloys Producers Association).
