As industry principal, defined and executed go-to-market strategy for industry-specific solutions and sales plays on the OpenText, Microsoft and SAP platforms and Cloud. Developed strategic relationships and joint go-to-market strategies with partners such as SAP, Microsoft and top 5 global Systems Integrators.Conducted market analysis, consulted with customers and prospects, and worked with product management to develop solution strategy for industry-specific applications such as Capital Projects and Portfolio Management, Enterprise Asset Management, Health, Safety and Environment (HSE), Engineering Document Management, Well File Management, and Master Data Governance (MDG). Also developed business cases and provided advice on acquisition strategies such as Informative Graphics Brava! visualization and redlining products.As the key thought-leader and spokesperson for the Energy, Resources and Infrastructure industries at OpenText:presented at industry events; participated as an advisory council member in Microsoft industry reference architectures (MURA and SERA); was active in the SAP Operations working group to to develop solutions in conjunction with customers and ecosystem partners such as Utopia, Rolta and Mobideo.

Participated as an advisory council member to define Microsoft industry reference architectures for Upstream Oil and Gas (MURA) and Smart Utilities (SERA), along with customers (CIOs and Chief IT Architects) and ecosystem partners.

Founding partner of a boutique management consulting practice, specialized in strategic planning, change management and implementation of Enterprise Information Management programs - including the management, visualization and collaboration around structured data, unstructured information, and big data.Built the firm from the ground up, growing to a team of 12 professionals developing and implementing local and international programs and projects ranging $800,000 to $40-million in the Public, Legal and Energy & Resources Sectors.

As a Sessional Instructor in the new Bachelor degree in Information Technology, Mr. Gascho contributed to the development of the syllabus of the newly accredited program, and delivering courses in Multimedia Data Management, Visualization and Information Management.

Lectured in the Masters of Architecture (M.Arch) program, in the Technology in Architecture stream.

Oversaw the strategy and successful delivery of turnkey Information Technology (IT) and Operations Technology (OT) systems for British Petroleum (BP) and Sinopec – a $500-million program to support the construction, and handover to operations of the world’s largest petrochemicals refinery complex in China. The project included the analysis, design and implementation of: the project management systems; engineering and visualization systems; and refinery Information Management Systems.

Reporting to the Senior Vice President, Mr. Gascho managed the consulting and software development practices for a $50-million revenue centre. These included Strategic Consulting, Information Architecture, Design and Development, and Maintenance and Delivery. Managed a global staff of 95 employees and 5 Managers. As a member of the senior management team, played an integral role in the development and implementation of the division’s strategies and objectives, within this ₤ 8.5 billion global engineering firm. Managed the development and support team for Convero, a proprietary project management and document control system utilized on large capital projects in the Energy and Infrastructure sectors, notably: Three Gorges Dam (Yangtze River, China); 407 Toll Highway (GTA; Ontario); Shanghai/SECCO Petro-chemical Refinery (Jinshan, China); “Chunnel” high-speed train interconnect across the English Channel; JFK and Ottawa Airports.As a practice leader, also provided strategic consulting and oversight to many local and international projects.Increased the resource utilization, efficiency and profitability of the software solutions practice for AMEC’s Technology Group by over 30%, by implementing a standardized methodology; matrix delivery and support organization; and training and performance improvement programs to improve service delivery and solution quality.

Reviewed applications for the Canadian Cultural Content Online Program (CCOP) and make recommendations on which proposals best demonstrate their ability to achieve the objectives of the partnership program including; capability, approach, cultural significance, and contribution to youth and life-long learning.Audited funded programs and organizations, to determine their compliance with program requirements, and authorize their disbursements based on work in progress.

Technology advisor to the Board of Directors for the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario, and the Executive Director of the Perinatal Partnership Program of Eastern and South Eastern Ontario,. Responsible for defining and advising on the technology strategy and infrastructure designed to link 37 health organizations and hospitals. The 3-year project requires a phased implementation strategy for the development of extensive network infrastructure, wireless communications devices (including document management) and Internet-based applications

As a founding partner, conceived and managed the development of an Internet-based product. Instrumental in the strategic planning, vision and long-term growth of the firm’s consulting practice and its client base. Developed business plans, secured financing, managed cash flow, performed competitive analysis, marketing, and business development. As a senior consultant, planned, designed and developed many innovative technology projects for clients in the private, academic and public sectors, with budgets ranging from $3,000 to $3.1 million.As the Product Manager for the Artifacts program, performed market, competitive and financial analysis to determine the vision, requirements, pricing and forecast sales of the GIS-based visualization product and real property information database.

Reporting to the Chief Architect of the National Capital Commission, and the Vice-President Land-use Planning, was responsible for developing policies, plans and guidelines for the zoning and development of Crown Land within the National Capital Region. Pioneered the application of computer-based visualization within the Urban Planning department using AutoCAD, Form Z, ArchiCAD (BIM) and digital rotoscopy. Developed 3-dimensional simulated massing models and conducted computer-based visualization of design proposals for projects such as; Gatineau City Master Plan, Nicolas-Waller Development, Daly Building Site, National Archives of Canada, and Friendship Windmill.Developed an electronic database, and presentations for managing the information, analysis, and land-use plans for the Ottawa Urban Corridors Study (inner-city greenspace) based on the ESRI ArcInfo Geographic Information System (GIS).
