The Tuxedo Club is a private, member-owned country club located in the Ramapo Mountains, approximately 38 miles northwest of New York City. Founded in 1886, its facilities include an 18-hole Robert Trent Jones designed golf course, lawn tennis, padel, court tennis, racquets, squash, platform tennis, swimming pool, boathouse, and skating rink. The club has two properties four miles apart with two full service clubhouses. There are three full service restaurants, one each at the golf house, pool complex, and at the architecturally renowned John Russell Pope designed main clubhouse overlooking the magnificent Tuxedo Lake. The wide array of outstanding facilities, along with its rich wonderful history and traditions, makes The Tuxedo Club one of the most unique country clubs in the world.

Established in 1919, the Wilshire Country Club (“Wilshire” or the “Club”) was designed and built by Norman Macbeth in the historic Hancock Park area of Los Angeles. Wilshire is a member-owned golf club with Regular Equity Members and Social Members.The golf course, a 6,554-yard layout, has completed a major renovation project headed by Kyle Phillips. Wilshire hosted the 2009 Southern California Golf Association’s Amateur Championship this Summer, and served as a U.S. Open Qualifying site in 2008.The Club previously has served as the venue for numerous PGA and LPGA Tour events including the Los Angeles Open beginning in 1928 and again several times in the 1930s.The Clubhouse at Wilshire, a 50,000 square foot facility, was redesigned in 2003 by architect Scott Johnson. It offers full casual and formal dining to its members and guests, meeting and banquet facilities for Club and outside events, extensive locker rooms and a fitness center. The amenities and atmosphere at Wilshire combine to provide an unparalleled membership experience.

Served as General Manager/COO of Plymouth Country Club, a 100 plus year old, classic Donald Ross club in Plymouth, MA. I was brought in during a very exciting and busy period in the club’s history. We completed construction and opened a brand new 14,000 square foot clubhouse in November 2007. We finished up the final touches on a complete golf course master plan with Ian Andrew Golf Design in Fall 2008.

The business of making and selling chocolate long being a part of the St.John family legacy, Barbara and Randy saw the perfect opportunity to use their Nest Diner kitchen for a new project and Sweet Memories Handmade Chocolates was born.A small, independent handmade chocolates company, our products were also sold via the internet and at our other business, The Nest Diner in Mattapoisett, MA.

The Nest Diner is a classic, 1950's style American diner with its original fluorescent lights, stainless steel walls and terrazzo floors. Barbara and Randy St. John purchased The Nest Diner in January 2003. Both Barbara and Randy have an extensive background in food and beverage, knew what was involved with the challenges of running a restaurant, and were anxious to also meet the challenges of working together for the first time. Having met while attending Johnson & Wales University (then college) in 1985, Barbara then went on to enjoy working at The Hynes Convention Center, The Rhode Island Convention Center and the international jewelry manufacturing association, MJSA in Providence. Randy had spent the last 11 years as the General Manager of the Agawam Hunt in East Providence. They had moved to Mattapoisett the previous year and realized this was a great opportunity to become a part of their new community.Classic comfort food with a contemporary twist!

As a full charge General Manager at Agawam Hunt, I enjoyed a successful track record in fiscal management, facilities maintenance and capital improvements, member services and staff development. My knowledge of contemporary trends in food and wines also enhanced the member experience. The club enjoyed member growth and a high level of satisfaction throughout the entire 9 buildings spread over 160+ acres. I was directly involved in the development of the long range master plan for the clubhouse and facilitation of a long range master plan for the golf course with renowned course architect and restoration specialist Gil Hanse. In addition to golf, the racquet facilities included 3 international squash courts, 2 indoor tennis courts, 10 grass tennis courts, and 4 Har Tru courts. We also offered a day camp for children from ages 3-12, swimming pool and aquatics team.
