Poverty Global Practiceo Co-authored a paper using rigorous microsimulation methodology to nowcast the poverty impact of the 2014 economic crisis in Brazil, estimating the beneficiaries of the CCT flagship program, Bolsa Familia. The government used the results of this paper to audit the program and include people who would have otherwise fallen into poverty. The paper was received a VPU award for its timeliness and impact;o Analyzed the incidence of public spending of five different sectors included in the Brazilian Public Expenditure Review, coordinating with four GPs. It won two awards in the World Bank and was highly influential, cited in over 70 external articles at its launch and still drives the policy debate in Brazil; o Conducted poverty assessment for Brazil to inform Bank’s operations, including the analysis of poverty and inequality in Brazil based on the 2015 national household survey PNAD and their evolution over the previous year and decade;
