The internship at Water Insight involved assessing the instrument performance of the company's newly developed product. This was done in collaboration with Jaime Pitarch & Eric Wagemaakers from the Royal NIOZ.

Under the supervision of Dr. Jacco Kromkamp and Dr. Daphne Van der Wal, I conducted a pilot study into the validation of water quality parameter retrieval from satellite images with measured in-situ data. I subsequently modelled primary production in the Scheldt Estuary, and following the positive results of the pilot study, primary production was modelled for the North Sea using MERIS for the period between 2002 and 2012.
