Often times, working full time as a contract developer did not give me a lot of chance to learn new things, or to experiment with new ideas. Therefore, in order for me to improve myself, I'm creating this "independent" path, doing new things (with new tools, exploring new ideas, breaking things up) without the immediate need to monetize it right away as often required by the employer.

Essentially, I'm doing what I have been doing as the mobile development lead for JMTechnology's subsidiary company in Indonesia on my previous employment period. - Developing applications for mobile platforms especially iOS and Android.- Developing node.js based web applications.Added to that, I am also responsible as a proxy. Connecting people between Japan and Indonesia.

JMTech Indonesia is a subsidiary of JMTechnology, a Fukuoka, Japan-based technology company. My official title is Lead Mobile Development which basically says that I'm the first point-to guy when there's a problem. I manage a team of five developers, sometimes more if there are parallel projects. Tasks management, clients communication, all the dirty stuffs. Essentially, I'm a janitor. In addition, it was expected that I know all the times of my team's whereabouts, down to conflict resolution if there's a friction in the team.I also code at least 40 hours a week, on three different platforms (iOS, Android, Windows Phone) and sometimes venturing to the server side part of the architecture (Java, Ruby) as well.

This app was made for a contest to promote Komodo Island as a travel destination. It's a catalog of interesting places in Komodo Island, including but not limited to, accommodation info, travel agencies' contact, and others.- Pasko - A simple score tracking sheet for a game of Hearts.

Currently, we're developing Android extension of FlightFocus Platform for the following functionalities:- An updater module, used to update and/or distribute a centralized information from ground into one of the pilot cabin's terminal unit.- These informations included but not limited to aircraft's manual, airport's chart, and current weather, and must be delivered within the timeframe when the plane is safely braked before proceeding to another take-off.- The challenge was how to design an user experience that fit the mobile users' limited attention time while doing a heavy work in the background reliably, and consistently.Obviously, these are just the minimal functionalities. As I've got a lot of questions regarding this part of my experience, I would say that although I had spent a considerable amount of time here, in term of enriching experiences and relevancy to what I'm currently strife for and planned in the future, those time are all amounts to nothing.This is a part of my working career that I regret, and its inclusion in this resume merely serves as a monument, a marking of time I had lost and would never got back. A part that serves as a reminder to myself to not make the same mistake again.
