About Ryan Hanscom
In my early career I worked as a video production engineer for various companies and as a freelance operator. I served on the Technology Advisory Committee for North Thurston Public Schools and helped develop the Broadcast Journalism program. My experience with computerized video technology brought me into the world of IT. For 20 years I was the proud owner of a technology support company based in Lacey, WA. With a fleet of vehicles, multiple locations, and a skilled team of professionals, we provided a complete suite of IT services. Our clients varied from State Agencies, Local Government, Fire Departments, Medical Clinics, Manufacturers, Accounting Firms and non-profit organizations. It was time to start a new adventure and I now work as a Management Team member in the IT Department for South Puget Sound Community College. My title is Director of Client Services. I have enjoyed working at SPSCC and feel proud to be part of such an amazing group of people. Serving the community and seeing the positive impact that I.T. can have for Students, Faculty and Staff is extremely rewarding. I believe in understanding client needs and providing outstanding customer service / support. Fun fact: I am still heavily involved in video production and spend my nights and weekends editing videos or with a camera in my hand. That is, if I am not backpacking, spending time with family, or doing something related to Star Wars.
