About Rhayssa Brandão De Faria Faina
Since the first steps of my academic career, I have dedicated my time and energy to the area of human rights, a cause that transcends the professional sphere, as it has become a genuine expression of my existence and resistance! My belief in the importance of protecting and promoting fundamental rights led me to study International Relations, directing my research towards the area of Migration and Refuge. The daily care and reception of people in situations of forced displacement awakened in me an intense motivation to actively contribute to overcoming challenges and building humanitarian and inclusive solutions.I currently have the honor of being responsible for the Livelyhoods Unit at the Migration and Human Rights Institute (IMDH). In this position, I have been playing a crucial role in promoting labor integration and defending the labor rights of migrants and refugees, developing strategies for the inclusion of women, people with disabilities, indigenous people and LGBTQIA+ people in the labor market. The experience as a humanitarian worker has been incredibly enriching, providing me with a deeper understanding of the complexities and challenges faced in the migratory context.
