I have a passion for science and in particular physics. As a physics faculty, I have an excellent opportunity to participate in the learning process for new physics students. My primary teaching philosophy is that students only really learn when they are doing things.I am also a science communicator as the author of Dot Physics, part of Wired Science Blogs. Most of my posts explore the intersection of physics and pop culture such as the physics of Captain America's shield. I have authored a few books: Geek Physics: Surprising Answers to the Planet's Most Interesting Questions (Wiley), Angry Birds Furious Forces (Nation Geographic) as well as an ebook that covers basic physics ideas (Just Enough Physics). My blog posts have been featured the European Space Agency's ATV blog and other popular outlets. I have also contributed to Wired Magazine.
