I founded Mongabay in 1999 out of my passion for nature and wildlife. Originally the site focused primarily on tropical rainforests, but today Mongabay provides news, information, and analysis on issues relating to a wide range of conservation and environmental issues.Mongabay established a non-profit -- Mongabay.org Corporation -- in 2011 to expand its impact by establishing an Indonesian-language environmental news service in Indonesia.
