I worked in a hands-on role building trade show booths and store fixtures, because I became interested in Patagonia's management style of the founder Yvon Chouinard after reading his book titled 'Let My People Go Surfing'. The job was a fantastic window into understanding the delicate balance between a productive/ margin driven work environment, and a work place where employees feel supported to structure their day as needed to lead a healthy, happy life.

Supervising volunteers and sub-contractors for the 'A Brush with Kindness' (ABwK) program, which focuses on exterior home improvements, and small scale projects ranging from 1-2 weeks.

• Supervise and organize volunteers (up to 65 people) by evaluating skill levels and matching to tasks• Oversee paid contractors to ensure that the work is done properly, correctly and completely.• Ensure new construction is built to current codes, coordinate periodic inspection, and make necessary changes in accordance with inspector requests• Maintain a safe work environment, including instruction to volunteers regarding safety issues• Coordinate the maintenance and rehabilitation of existing Habitat structures • Read blueprints, process RFIs, and oversee document control process • Record all construction expenses, review budgets and timelines on multiple projects • Implement new technologies, practices and design: water use, runoff, debris recycling/reuse, LEED principles, Energy Star rating, passive cooling and heating, construction waste minimization, recycling, and disposal• Manage material inventory, develop budgets, and ensure projects (up to $600,000) are completed within budget

Assisted in daily operations of managing over $750 M in commercial and residential properties Researched and resolved building code violations issued by NYC Department of Buildings (DOB) Performed accounts payable and receivable activity such as payroll and rent collection Assisted in reviews of blueprints of commercial space with engineering and architectural firms Created lease agreements and made addendums to current lease agreements Participated in tenant/landlord negotiations, investment decisions and studying upcoming potential investment strategies.

• Designed preliminary marketing strategy for North American clients through personal contact, online marketing and website• Conducted real estate market analysis including governmental stability reports, regional price comparisons, ROI projections, social and community relations/interpretation, climactic conditions, tourism trends, international opinions • Drafted blueprints and calculated construction budget for prospective residential development• Coordinated surveyors, investors, lawyers and government officials during land purchases
