Rhiannon Catalyst is a multidisciplinary artist, vocalist, curator, event planner and tour manager with two decades of experience and accolades. Known first for her voice and her ear & eye for incredible talent, Catalyst is now also known for a specialized focus in the intersection of global cultures, art, and science.As a producer, curator, manager, event, team and community builder, Rhiannon Catalyst has been at the helm of highly awarded multimedia art, music, technology, events, venues, and conferences for nearly two decades. Much of her work celebrates global and cross-cultural influences… the place where cultures and disciplines intersect, overlap, and inspire one another. Like the intersection of art and science and the field of creative technology that’s become both her professional and artistic focus. She now manages and sometimes curates and producers events, conferences, tours, and virtual reality projects for creators at the forefront of the convergence of art, technology, climate science, and space exploration. In 2017 she began managing tours and virtual reality content for BELLA GAIA, an award-winning immersive and multimedia stage show inspired by the experience of astronauts seeing earth from space for the first time (called the “overview effect”) that communicates- without words- the interconnectedness of all things on earth by combining NASA supercomputer data-visualizations, orbital views of Earth, and live performances of music and dance from around the world. Director of Strategic Operations for the group's independent label Subatomic Sound, which is steadily building a reputation as one of the most serious forces in modern dub and electronic music. Assembled a tour for the group, as well as performing and producing countless events in Miami and New York with the label and a network of independent labels they've built deep relationships with, releasing remixes of each other's work as well as co-producing events, tours, and campaigns. Their global "family" of labels includes Dubblestandart from Vienna, currently releasing a double album of Lee Scratch Perry's classic dub tracks remixed by contemporary artists including Subatomic Sound System. Prior to their work with Dubblestandart, the label forged a deep and continuous partnership with Modus Vivendi Music, an independent label based in LA, Berlin, and Mexico that gained huge attention when Island Records released the track Black & Gold, which shot to number one on the UK charts and garnered a grammy nomination for founder and producer Jesse Rogg and vocalist Sam Sparro. Rhiannon wrote and recorded the song “On Chrome,” produced jointly by Jesse Rogg and Subatomic Sound and released on Modus Vivendi Music in 2005. A large part of Subatomic Sound’s success so far can be attributed to the progressive business & branding models and cooperative strategies they’ve developed in response to constant changes in the music industry, technology, and the politics of content distribution.
