Recently, I completed a paid summer internship with Bradford Woods, who is partnered with IU & Riley Children's Hospital. I was apart of cabin life and worked with a variety of populations with varying cognitive and/or physical disabilities. Some of my most memorable camp sessions were working with Riley Children's Health, Adult Camp, and Little Red Door. My experiences in two healthcare vocational programs allowed me to earn many certifications (Ex: CNA) which support my passions for the healthcare industry. These vocational experiences propelled me to graduate top of my high school class with both an academic honors and technical honors diploma. My most memorable achievements include working directly with Alzheimer's disease residents and being a recipient of the Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship. With these certifications and experiences, I am more knowledgeable, confident, and passionate for my future career endeavors. I graduated from Indiana University O'Neill School of Public and Environmental Affairs with a B.S. in Healthcare Management & Policy with distinction and a minor in Environmental Science and Health. My childhood of volunteering for Allen County Parks as a counselor for environmental discovery programs fuels my passion for minoring in Environmental Health & Sciences. My studies in comparative and international policy have given me opportunities to develop my organizational, time management, discipline, leadership, and interpersonal skills. I am seeking to further my skills, build connections, and gain insights into the healthcare industry with future involvement in full-time healthcare management or administration positions. The coursework from my degree has provided me with knowledge in areas such as career branding, healthcare policy, healthcare finance, environmental concerns, computer science (Microsoft programs), human resources, economics, and public policy. While completing my undergrad, I played intramural soccer and researched environmental sustainability and healthcare policies in Bloomington. I have worked in long-term care facilities, food services, and customer services which allowed me to lead and learn from others. I was a part of a mentorship where I gained connections with healthcare professionals. I hope to use my experiences as an IU alumni to mentor future IU healthcare students and guide them towards the best version of themselves. I aspire to utilize my experiences and knowledge to become an active and valuable healthcare professional and advocate for the world we thrive in.
