This role is part of Big W's Trainee Leadership Program. In this role I work across multiple departments of the store which has provided me with well rounded experience. My introduction into this role saw me coordinate the execution of Christmas and Back To School 2020 seasonal events supervising a team of 5 people.Key elements of my day to day in this role include: - Completing daily CARS routine, gap scanning and compiling fulfilment reports- Meticulously handling POS system transactions including eftpos, cash, returns, exchanges and refunds to ensure seamless and accurate cash flow- Processing high volumes of online orders during peak periods of trading with high degree of accuracy- Independently opening and preparing the store for daily trading, holding staff meetings and delegating daily tasks to a team of upwards of 12 people- Handling customer complaints, resolving conflict and escalating situations to the store manager where necessary

I have diverse Visual Merchandising experience across Womenswear, Menswear, Childrenswear and Accessories. In this role my primary responsibility was replenishment and maintenance as well as completion of Visual Merchandising Directives (VMD) in relation to the Childrenswear Department. Though often my skills and experience were utilised to curate appealing and engaging seasonal and themed displays.Key elements of this role included:- Providing customers with high quality service while upholding company standards and values to ensure customer satisfaction- Maintaining clean and organised inventory and following company directives to curate displays rotating seasonal apparel and accessories- Managing telephone switchboard across six lines transferring and directing calls to relevant departments, answering customer questions and resolving concerns- Reviewing weekly sales and analysing trends while problem solving and making informed decisions to create solutions that encouraged stock flow and maximised profit- Identifying trending inventory and curating engaging displays and styling mannequins to cross merchandise and encourage a larger basket sale- Actioning seasonal markdowns and transitioning departments from clearance to new inventory following the VMD

In this role I covered leadership relief for the period of a month. This came at the beginning of the peak of COVID-19 and saw increased and unprecedented sales. I oversaw the execution of the Mother's Day promotional event and accompanying brochure launch. Additional key responsibilities of this role included: - Supervising daily operations of Softgoods departments managing a team of 7-9 people- Training and coaching new and exisiting team members on visual merchandising standards and other retail processes- Completing daily inventory routine reports including gap scan and stock fulfilment with a high degree of accuracy to minimise shrinkage
