Rhiannon MacDonnell Mesler is an associate professor of marketing at the Dhillon School of Business at the University of Lethbridge, where she teaches and conducts research on consumer behavior and communication. With over 10 years of experience in academia and consulting, she has a PhD in Management from the University of Calgary, a MSc in Industrial-Organizational Psychology from the University of Calgary, and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Waterloo. She also completed a post-doctoral fellowship at the University of Alberta.Rhiannon's research focuses on two major streams: prosocial consumer behavior and technology-mediated communication. They examine how consumers engage in charitable giving, volunteerism, social enterprise, and sustainable consumption, as well as how social media influences consumer behavior and sharing. Rhiannon has received national scholarships and awards, such as the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada and the Killam Trust, and published in Financial Times Top 40 Journals, such as Journal of Marketing and Journal of Marketing Research. She has also received several awards for her innovation and effectiveness in the classroom.Rhiannon also provides valuable insights and recommendations to organizations, non-profits, and social enterprises on policy development, program development, branding, impact measurement, and survey development, using reliable quantitative and qualitative research methods. Rhiannon is passionate about working with organizations that seek to have a positive social impact and empowering them with data-driven strategies.
