Active in the production of the magazine & brand extension standalone publications – from planning phase to print. Including planning the content of every issue as well as styling & creative direction, commissioning of features. Work closely with Editor re: internal budgets & operating within it; stand in for the Editor in her absence. Be a brand ambassador at industry events, launches & reader days. Assist in ensuring all deadline are met – editorial, production & print. Work with the copy editors across both languages the magazine is published in. Ensure editorial style & consistency is executed across both titles. Direct art department on design, layout, covers cover lines, use of colours & fonts.Write; research & translate articles when needed. Edit the ‘Ask the Experts’ section of the magazine – this is where relationships are built with external experts in the relevant industries, readers need advice from. Manage all Advertorials – manage client relationships. Create concepts for the Sales team to sell to clients. Oversee the process from brief to execution through to layout and client approval.Digital responsibilities include content selection & creation for both the English and Afrikaans websites. Ensure the synergy between the brand’s print & digital offering. Increase Unique Browsers and Page Impressions (overall traffic) to the websites thus creating favourable conditions for advertisers. Identify all revenue-generating opportunities & where possible leverage it across print as well. Manage all Social Media platforms (Facebook, Twitter & Pinterest) & increase, fans & followers; implement campaigns in line with the publication to create brand awareness & actively using the platform as a market research tool. Advise the Developers on website functionality ensuring a user-friendly online experience including the mobile offering. Manage all stats via Nielsens, Google Analytics, Pin Reach. Manage newsletter database and distribution.
