I have two passions: helping people, and writing. I have been a stay-at-home mom for many years, and entered the world of homeschooling out of a need to find an alternative way to educate my son in 2012. That led to a position as a resource assistant for a publicly-funded charter school. I like to tell people that I was happily employed as a "mom on campus" to 150 K-12 students. I thrived on the idea of making our students feel welcome, safe, and loved while learning. My duties ranged from handing out bandaids and wiping tears, to coordinating with educational vendors and creating/ implementing processes to streamline the operations of our regional (learning) center. I loved my work, and only left the position when my family relocated from Orange County to the Central Coast of California. In my spare time, I am an enthusiastic and committed writer and event planner, with extensive experience in promotion, social media, and fan community building. I am the co-author of non-fiction manuscripts focused on aspects of fandom, which led me to create a world-renowned international fan blog and website for Duran Duran fans. I believe engagement cultivates personal relationships, and I genuinely enjoy reaching out, interacting, and growing our community of readers. My passion for researching and writing about fandom is equaled by my drive to create a place for fans to connect and build strong communities. I think on my feet, have a strong, self-motivated work ethic to write creative and innovative daily content, and am committed to telling relatable stories on fandom.
