Accountable for the effective management and leadership of a project accounting group of 125+ employees, working with the other NPAMs to ensure consistency between regions. Work in partnership with Financial Services leadership on strategic decisions regarding hiring, employment actions, market and annual performance salary adjustments. Develop and refine project accounting policies and procedures. Collaborate with Controllers, Finance Managers/Analysts and Corporate to operate as one single unified Financial Services team. Develop and implement consistent training programs for all levels of the Project Accounting group. Be a subject matter expert in revenue recognition. In partnership with Financial Services leadership and the internal controls group, maintain and ensure compliance with the Project and Revenue (“PAR”) controls, ensuring they are reflective of current processes. Work with internal audit to identify areas of improvement and prepare remediation action plans, as needed. Oversee the internal and external audits as they relate to the project accounting group or PAR controls, and coordination of the revenue testing in the annual external audit, ensuring the support provided is well-organized, timely and accurate. Build strong relationships with and serve as a trusted advisor to our internal business partners including Project Managers, Project Independent Reviewers, BCOLs and RBLs. In partnership with the other NPAMs, prepare the annual billing rate tables and manage custom rates and maintenance (CRAM) process. Partner with other NPAMs to drive collaboration and work sharing, including supporting corporate development in providing resources for the integration of acquisitions across the globe. Work with the Regional PAMs and PA Leads, monitor the WIP aging for the projects. Create specific action plans to ensure timely and accurate billings to reduce days’ sales outstanding. Lead and participate in special projects as assigned.

US Southeast Regional Financial Manager managing a staff of 14 Project Administrators throughout the Southeast Region. Perform month-end close duties consisting of reconciling financial statements with project revenue and WIP reports, uploading Journal Entries to make any revenue and expense corrections for the period, provide reports and assessments to leadership, etc. Supervise and manage project administrator staff throughout region to ensure efficiency and accuracy on billings to clients as well as managing project financials. Work with leadership on developing overhead and operational budgets. Assist, lead, and train on acquisitions of other companies to make the transition as smooth as possible. Monitor AR and AFDA. Work with the compliance department on project audits with KYTC and other governmental agencies.

Prepare monthly invoicing to clients. Supervise a team of 9 Project Administrators. Maintain contracts and support for agreements and budgets. Work is done in Oracle. Analyze how revenue is recognized and monitor WIP and deferred revenue. Assist Financial Manager with period close by creating journal entries, analyzing projects, streamlining spreadsheets, overhead reports, etc.

ENTRAN was bought by Stantec Oct. 2011. Duties: Create custom Crystal reports, data extraction and SQL queries for use by management and project managers. Maintain and support Deltek Vision Financial Management System. Provide project costing analysis. Perform month-end and year-end close and prepare monthly financial statements. Calculate monthly and quarterly accruals (wages, interest receivable, interest payable, bonuses, etc.) Maintain and update monthly actual and projected financials on accrual and cash budgets. Create month-end general ledger adjustments and accruals. Balance payroll records with time record cost data. Have experience with cash reconciliations and quarter and year end close GL reconciliation. Record Fixed Assets and calculate depreciation and disposals. Calculate the distribution of income and overhead among regional offices. Direct other accounting personnel when problems arise. Work with state agency and outside auditors on yearly overhead audits. Backup for payroll administrator.
