Upon joining ORB International Richard developed specialist expertise in the areas of political and communications research with particular focus on the Middle East and Africa. For over three years Richard managed a bi-monthly tracking poll in Basrah as well as ad hoc focus groups across Iraq. He has also managed numerous qualitative communications research studies across the Middle East working with local agencies in Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt, UAE and Kuwait. In 2009 Richard assisted in the training of a Somali field force and ran a qualitative research training course in Djibouti. This field force has now completed over 5,000 face to face interviews and 24 focus groups as part of ORB’s ongoing work in Somalia. Recent work in Africa includes managing large scale quantitative surveys in Kenya and Nigeria. More recently Richard has managed been involved in evaluating Aid projects including media campaigns in Somalia and AIDS prevention and treatment in Nigeria. Domestically Richard has managed numerous qual and quant projects for a broad range of clients including political parties, public affairs companies, institutional investors and PR agencies.Richard has a BA (Hons) in Geography from the University of Kent and an MSc in Social Research Methods from Middlesex University.
